Friends and Neighbors, Fiends and Anemones, WELCOME TO MY WEB SITE, and thanks for visiting.
I am now no longer the last musician on earth without a web page, and I'll let that pass to someone else - if indeed such a person even exists!
Here you will find updates on my goings on, thoughts and ideas on music, and answers to questions I'm often asked about how my dulcimers are set up and my approach to playing them. [In a nutshell: 1 - Sit. 2 - Strum. 3 - Change notes every so often.] [ :- ) ]
I've been doing this music thing since about 1968, and picked up the dulcimer in 1975. My first two vinyl albums - mountain dulcimer instrumentals with my friend Jay Leibowitz and sundry fiddles, banjos, etc - came out in 1977 and 1981, and they've recently been reissued as a CD compilation, "Dulcimer Fling!" More information on this and my other recordings are on related pages here.
The acoustic music world and the dulcimer scene in particular have been evolving incredibly fast, and that's great to see - especially new folks coming in. I haven't traveled much in a few years, so there are many of you out there I've not yet met. Hopefully this site will be one way you can get to know a bit more about me and my music, and perhaps I'll make it to your area in the coming months and years. In the meantime, feel free to contact me through this site with thoughts and questions, gig information, and a bit about yourself.
Music is a shared experience, so let's be on with it!
