Leo Kretzner: Links

Mudcat Cafe
One of the very best folk/acoustic sites - links to lyrics, histories, photos, other specialized sites, etc, etc. Be careful - you can spend hours here!
Closer to Fine
This is the band I'm working with the most these days, fronted by two great singers, Heidi Bird and Mary Jo Wiedey. Lots of songs by the Indigo Girls to feature the great vocal harmonies and interplay of Heidi and Mary Jo, plus some of my own originals and those by Ken Morris, another band member. Heidi's husband Jeff plays drums and we hope Jim Cope will be rejoining us when he gets done with a summer of theater in Colorado.
Claremont Folk Music Center
The site for my home town's wonderful music center, it lists their various workshops, concerts and open mics. The store is worth visiting because of its amazing world instrument collection. Besides the expected variety of string instruments for sale, they also have a large inventory of hand percussion instruments.
Elderly Instruments
The amazing emporeum of all things related to roots and acoustic music! Located in Lansing, MI, I remember when they were a little hole-in-the- wall store back around 1976. They've grown enormously over the years because of real devotion to and knowlege of the music, combined with some of the best prices around (they don't take the usual full dealer mark-up).
Lark Music Camp
This is for info on the yearly camp outside of Mendocino, CA. Not just a music and dance camp, but somewhat of a 'tribal' gathering of latter-day hippies and musicians of all ages.
Music Theory Corner
A Celtic duo from the SF Bay area by the name of Standing Stones runs this site, which is pretty good. They have other pages about their music, Irish-Gaelic pronunciation, etc.
Jerry Rockwell's Dulcimer Pages
This is a site by Jerry Rockwell, dulcimer player, builder, and writer. Lots of info on theory and improvisation for the dulcimer. Jerry has long been a "dulcimer player's dulcimer player."
Ron Ewing Dulcimers
The site for one of my favorite dulcimer makers and players. The best dulcimer capos come from Ron.
Celtic Slo Jam
A place to get some sheet music for Celtic tunes and hear them played in slow motion - a good learning tool.
City of Hope Medical Center
This is the site of my 'day gig' - ie, where I work! Just for those curious. My page there is way out of date - I'm working on completely different projects now - but perhaps I'll get it caught up this fall...!
